In a Game that was a battle for second place in Div. 2; Pennbrook and Del Webb went toe to toe.  A total of 60 hits and 42 runs, Del Webb held on for a 22 to 20 win that saw Pennbrook score 7 runs in the 3rd inning to tie the score at 9 all, but Del Webb got 4 of their on in the same inning and managed to hang on to the lead in a close battle the rest of the way. Good hitting by both clubs. For Pennbrook: John Baker with 5 hits; Jon Hartman 4 hits including a Hr, also Pat Stock with 4 hits; and three hits each for Glenn Laney, Doug Long, Matt Palmer and Floyd Williams. For Del Webb: 4 Hits for Kevin Cheeks, and 3 hits each for Mike Hayman and Rick Gebhard; and eight others with two hits apiece !

A very uneventful & low scoring game with Holiday Village (DCO FLOORING ) winning a ho hum affair 6-3.  For Holiday Village, Dave Duval, Jeff Beltz, Butch Tanner, Mark Sims, all had 2 hits each. Doug McKinney had 2 hits including a towering HR. Some other guy had 3 hits including a HR.                                                 

For Water Oak(KILEY & SONS PLUMBING )  Pat Dwyer, Darin Holman, had 3 hits each. Dan Tremaine, Bud Andrisko, scott Storgaard, Bob Ducharme all had 2 hits each.

Another well played, final scheduled softball game, today between the two teams.

 For Clerbrook: Jessie Allison had 4 hits, (2 singles, double and triple), 5 players also contributed 2 hits each.

 For Continental: Mike Florence and Dan Amstutz each had 3 hits. 4 players also contributed 2 hits each.

Holiday Village D2 - 15 Continental D2 – 0

Holiday Village /DCO Flooring defeated Continental 15-0 in 5 innings.  The home plate umpire was Ray Wnuck and Bob Thompson handled the bases.  Holiday Village was led by Doug McKinney who had 3 hits.  Dave Duval was the winning pitcher.  Ed Leech led Continental with 2 hits. 

Dell Webb/Good Time Lounge at Div 2 Clerbrook

Umpires for the game were Romie Marble behind the plate and Joan James on the bases.

D 2 Dell Webb/ Good Time Lounge had 3 five run innings, and took control of this game in the 7th to

leave D 2 Clerbrook with a 23-15 win. Home Runs by both teams made this an exciting game. Dell Webb was led by Al Sondergard with 4 hits and Rich DeNicola, Will Blanchard, Jake Pyne, Kevin Cheeks, and Mike Hayman all had 3 each. Rich, Will and Kevin had HR's. Clerbrook was led by Lee Burkett with 4 hits and Ron Bontrager, Frank Pearson, Jessie Allison, and Dewey Tabbert all had 3 each. Frank, Jessie, Dewey, and Lee all had HR's. Thank you to Dell Webb for supporting our snack shack after the game.

On a beautiful Florida morning Continental came to Pennbrooke for a friendly game of softball, unfortunately Pennbrooke werent very friendly hosts winning in 5 innings 18-3.  Leading the way for the visitors was Mark LaPlante with 2 hits, 1 being a deep homerun to straight away center field.  Pennbrookes attack was led by Pat Stock with 4 hits, Gary Lubert with 3 hits and 2 moon shots, Floyd Williams and Dan Header also each had 3 hits and a homerun.  Winning pitcher was Rick Bracken.  Division 2 is a very competitive division and anyone can win on a given day.

 

Clerbrook D2 - 23   Holiday Village D2 – 21

Clerbrook/ Clerbrook Golf & RV defeated Holiday Village/ DCO Flooring by a score of 23-21.

Home plate umpire was Ray Wnuck and Pat Funch handled the bases.  Clerbrook was led by Jessie Allison who went 5 for 5 with three home runs.  Fred Hartlett added 3 hits.  All the other batters for Clerbrook had 2 hits each.   Holiday Village was led by Butch Tanner who had 4 hits.

It was a slug fest at Del Webb Field today that saw Holiday Village with 44 hits and 4 Hrs. and Del Webb with 34 hits and 5 Hrs. but after the smoke cleared Holiday Village came out on top with the 31 to 28 score even though Del Webb had had the tying run on first with the bases loaded with one out only to have the next batter to hit into a game ending double play: For Holiday: Butch Tanner and Dard Moonan with 5 hits; Mark Sims and Bill Lissimore with 4 hits. For Del Webb: With 4 hits each; Mike Hayman, Hal Dod, and Jake Pyne, also a Hr.; Will Blanchard with 3 hits also Ray Pierce with 3 hits and Kevin Cheeks 3 hits, all Hrs.s. Brad Feik also a Hr.

 

D2: Kiley and Sons Plumbing (Water Oaks) 23, Continental SoftballClub 19

Umpires: Home plate: Don Sprout, Bases: Marty Konantz

Great game by two competitive teams today at Continental. Back and forth scoring with Continental taking a 15-14 lead going into the 8th inning.

Water Oak put up a 9 spot in the top of the 8th. Continental came up short in the bottom of the inning.

There were 8 HR in the game: Water Oak 5, Continental 3.

For Water Oak: Darin Holman had 4 hits, Dan Tremaine and Alex Andrisco each had 3 hits.

For Continental: Chris Todd, Ed Leech, Mike Florence, Mark LaPlante and Mike Dineen each had 3 hits.

 

In an exciting comeback win, Clerbrook D2 defeated Pennbrooke D2 24-23 in 9 innings. Clerbrook rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th to tie the score and scored 2 in the 9th for the win. Pennbrooke led the entire game until the 8th.

For Pennbrooke, Floyd Williams, Matt Palmer, Dan Header, and Rick Bracken all had 4 hits. Clerbrook was led by Brian McLean with 5 hits  (2 HR), and Ron Bontrager, Jessie Allison (3 HR), Dewey Tabbert, and Alan Lundy with 4 hits each.  Frank Pearson also had a HR.

It is always a fun game, win or lose, with these 2 teams as there is always friendly banter back and forth.

Today, both Teams Bats seemed only luke warm at best: Continental had a 5 to 2 lead half way through the game and held on for an 11 to 7 Victory: For Continental: Ed Leech 4 hits, and Mike Florence had 3 hits: For Del Webb: Hal Dod had 3 hits and Mike Haymen had 2 hits :

 

 

What a game!! Clerbrook-2 took command with two  5 run innings to lead 15-11 after 5 innings of play. Water Oak(Kiley & Sons Plumbing) scored 7 runs in the 7th inning to lead 18-17. In the 8th inning, Clerbrook-2 exploded for 12 runs to take an 11 run lead…. In the bottom of the 8th, Water Oak scored 13 runs without making an out to win the game 31-29!!It was Brian Macker’s walk off grand slam that sealed the win.  Water Oak was led by Pat Dwyers 5 hits(2hr). Bud Andrisco, Jose Torres, had 4 hits each. Winning Pitcher Darin Holman had 3 hits(3hr), Brian Macker had 3 hits(2hr), Mark Dufour had 3 hits(1hr), Mike Anguiln had 3 hits, Randy Tidwell, Ron Drewa, Dan Tremaine had 2 hits.                Clerbrook-2 was led by Frank Pearson with 5 hits(2hr), Jeff Kohn had 4 hits(1hr), Brian Maclean had 3 hits(1hr), Ron Bontriger,Fred Hartlett, Lee Burket, Wayne Lewis, all had 3 hits. Dave Moser, Jessie Allison, had 2 hits.

Pennbrooke/ Leesburg Moose Lodge defeated Holiday Village/ DCO Flooring by a score of 14-6 at Holiday Village.   After defeating Holiday Village on Tuesday, Pennbrooke wanted to remind everyone who is the best team in Division 2 by defeating them on their own field.   Pennbrooke had several hitting stars.  John Baker had 3 hits with a huge home run.   Jon Hartman had two hits with a massive home run.   Glenn Laney added three hits and Dan Heater added a home run. Floyd Williams was the winning pitcher.    Holiday Village was led by Dard Moonan who had 3 hits.   Home plate umpire was Ray Wnuck and Mel Curran handled the bases.

Close ball game for the first 4 innings, then Del Webb slowly pulled away, but Continental was never out of the Game, Del Webb held on for the 20 to 12 win in a well played game with several nice plays by both teams . For Continental: Ed Leech,2 Triples and a Hr.; Rick Cataldo, 3 hits; Shelly Stephenson with 3 hits and Karl Abrams with 2 hits: For Del Webb, Ray Pierce with 4  hits/3 Rbi’s, Al Sondergarrd also with 4 hits; 3 hits each for Hal Dodd, Will Blanchard, Keith Harriman, and Gary Pickel .

 

DCO Flooring 22 @Villages Moose Lodge 24

Home plate: Gaylan Friend...Bases: Dan Jagodzinski

On a beautiful Florida day Holiday Village visited Pennbrooke and in a seesaw battle Pennbrooke pulled out the victory 24-22.  Leading the charge for Holiday was Dard Moonan with 4 hits and Kevin Coble, Bernie Rau and Bill Lissimore with 3 hits each.  Leading the way for the home team was Matt Palmer, Pat Stock and Jon Hartman with 4 hits each, and 3 hits from John Baker, Dan Header and Ross Querry. Header had 2 homeruns, as did Gary Lubert who tore the cover off of the ball and we presented both balls to his grandson who was visiting from PA., Jon Hartman also added a blast.  Winning pitcher was Rick Bracken.  The fans were treated to a heck of a ballgame.

The umpires for today’s game were Tim Hockstad and Joan James. Water Oak-2 defeated Clerbrook-2    27-20  Water Oak was led with two home runs from Darin Holman and Mark Dufour. Clerbrook’s hit leaders were Lee Burkett with four hits and Wayne Lewis with three hits.

Holiday Tavel-2 vs Clerbrook-2

Our umpires for the game were Joan James and George Lucia. Holiday Travel defeated Clerbrook-2 by a score of 20-17. Holiday Travel-2 was led offensively by Mark Simms with four hits and Dave Duval, Butch Tanner and Doug McKinney with three hits each. Clerbrook-2 was led by Dave Moser, Jessie Allison and Chrissy Allison with two hits each. A great day on the ball field and fun was had by all.

 

D2: Leesburg Moose Lodge (Pennbrooke) 16, Continental Softball Club1

Tough day for the Continental bats. Pennbrooke's pitcher had a good defense behind him today in the 16-1, 6 inning game.

Game ended with the mercy rule.

For Pennbrooke: Doug Long, Ross Query and Floyd Williams each had 3 hits. 5 players had 2 hits.

For Continental: Rick Urso and Mark LaPlante each had 2 hits. Continental's only run was a HR from Chris Todd.

In a hard hitting battle between first and second place teams with 58 hits and 37 runs that saw the score go back and forth with ties in three innings, Holiday Village held on with the tying run on 3rd. and winning run on second and two outs in the bottom of the eight inning ! For Holiday Village:  3 hits apiece for Mark Sims, Rod Huey. Jeff Beltz, and Dave Duval: For Del Webb; Will Blanchard with 4 Hits, and three hits each for; Hal Dod. Jake Pyne, Terry Johnson, Bob Falzone, Gary Pickel. Mike Hayman and Kevin Cheeks, also a Hr.

 

Clerbrook Golf and RV 21 @ Villages Moose Lodge 31

Home plate umpire: Dan Jagodzinski...Bases: John Martucci

Pennbrooke beat Clerbrook today 31-21 in a pitchers duel.. There were a total of 19 homeruns hit with the visitors hitting 12 and the home team hitting 7. Leading the way for Clerbrook were Hartlett, Allison, Tabbert, Pearson, and Mosel wih 2 homeruns each.  The hometeam was lead by Hartman 4/4 with 2 homeruns, Palmer 4/4 with 1 homerun, Carter 4/4 with 2 homeruns, Williams 3/3 with a homerun and also the winning pitcher in relief, Stock, Baker and Lubert went 3/3 and Header contributed with a homerun.  The fans were treated to a slugfest and we need to purchase more softballs to finish the season, thanks to Clerbrook for eating at our concession stand and great sportsmanship.  D2 is the most competitive division i have ever seen.

Continental 2 scored 1 run in the 1st inning & it held after the 5th inning! Continental added 2 runs in the 6th and Water Oak (Kiley & Sons) scored 4 runs in the 6th to make the score 4-3 Water Oak. Water Oak scored 1 run in the 7th inning to make the final score Water Oak 5   Continental 3.                                                           

This was a defensive gem played by both teams, Superb line up management was the key to victory!                                                                                                                                                       

Continental 2 was led by Rick Cataldo, Kevin Cullen, Mark Laplante each with 2 hits.                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Water Oak (Kiley & Sons Plumbing) was led by Darin Holman’s 2 hits (1 hr that had a motor on it!!) Ron Drewa also had 2 hits.

Water Oak (Kiley & Sons Plumbing) led 3-0 into the 3rd inning, when Del Webb (Good Time Lounge) went ahead 4-3. Del Webb increased their lead to 6-3 after the 4th inning. Water Oak came surging back to take an 8-6 lead. Del Webb scored 7 unanswered runs to set the final score at 13-8. A fine performance by Water Oak players with only 1 error for the game.                                                                           

Del Webb was led by Rich DeNicola with 3 hits (1hr), 3 hits also by Will Blanchard. Players with 2 hits were Jake Pyne (1hr), Rick Gabhard, Bob Falzone, Mike Hayman, Ray Pierce.

Holiday Village/ DCO Flooring defeated Clerbrook/ Clerbrook Golf & RV by a score of 17-13.  Clerbrook was led by Fred Hartlett who had 3 hits including 2 home runs.  Brian McLean had 3 hits including a home run.  Ron Bontrager and Wayne Lewis each added 3 hits.  Holiday Village was led by Butch Tanner, Mark Sims, and Bernie Rau with 3 hits each.  Dave Duval was the winning pitcher.  The home plate umpire was Mel Curran and Ray Wnuck handled the bases. 

Continental Softball Club 10 @ Villages Moose Lodge 17
Continental came to Pennbrooke for a friendly game of softball and Pennbrooke came away with a 17-10 victory.  For the visitors Mike Florence and Mark LaPlante had 3 hits each, and Mark struck out once also.  Ed Leech went only 1 for 4 but hit a homerun in his last at bat. The pitcher felt bad for him and served up a meatball.  Pennbrooke was led by Doug Long with 4 hits, Pat Stock, Matt Palmer, Joe Trotz and Glenn Laney had 3 hits with one of Glenns being a 3 run dinger. Jon Hartman and Dan Header each contributed with homeruns. Winning pitcher was Rick Bracken.

Holiday Village was just south of the rain line and was able to get their ballgame in before the steady rain came down later in the day.  Holiday Village/ DCO Flooring defeated Continental today by a score of 24-13 at Holiday Village.  

Continental was led by Ed Leech who had 3 hits including 2 home runs.  Chris Todd had 2 home runs.  Mark LaPlante had 2 hits including a home run.  Mike Dineen had 3 hits.  Karl Abrams, Rick Cataldo, Shelly Stephenson, and Rich Smith added 2 hits each.  Holiday was led by Doug McKinney, Mark Sims, Dard Moonan, Jeff Beltz, and Dave Duval with 3 hits each.  Ray Wnuck umpired the plate and Bob Thompson handled the bases.

Holiday Village D2 - 19 Water Oak D2 - 14

Holiday Village/ DCO Flooring defeated Water Oak/ Kiley & Sons Plumbing by a score of 19-14.  Water Oak was kind enough to host Holiday Village due to a Craft Show taking place at our home field.  Water Oak started off the game by sending a few out of the park and into the tennis courts.  Water Oak was led by Darin Holman and Pat Dwyer who had 3 hits each and 2 monster home runs each.  Brian Macker also had 2 hits including a home run.  Dan Tremaine, Randy Tidwell, and Don Drogosch each added 2 hits. 

Holiday Village was led by Mark Sims who had 4 hits.  Bernie Rau had 3 hits.  Butch Tanner was the winning pitcher.  The home plate umpire was Fred Ramos and Lenny Blevins handled the bases.

For Continental: Mike Florence, Rick Cataldo and Steve Jones each had 4 hits. One of Mike's hits was a HR. 4 players contributed 3 hits.

In a well played game the visitors from Del Webb handed the home team Pennbrooke a one run defeat..Pennbrooke had there opportunity in the bottom of the 8th but hit into a double play with 2 runners on and the tying run at 2nd..Leading hitters for Pennbrooke were Baker, Long and Trotz with 3 hits each, one of Longs being a homerun, Dan Header also added a homerun.. For the victorious Del Web Dod, Blanchard and Gebhard had 3 hits each while Cheeks and Denicola each added homeruns.  This is the 2nd game this year against Del Webb that Pennbrooke could not score to win in the bottom of the 8th.

Umpires for the game were Dan Fortunato at the plate and Joan James on the bases.

On a beautiful morning for softball Clerbrook won a thriller against Continental 21-19. 

It was back and forth the whole game until Clerbrook went ahead in the bottom of the 7th and held Continental scoreless in their 8th inning.

For Continental, Ed Leech had 4 hits (1 HR) while Mike Florence, Karl Abrams, Mike Dineen, and Rich Smith had 3 hits.

For Clerbrook, Fred Hartlett and Chris Cogswell had 4 hits each while Jessie Allison, Brian MaClean, Frank Pearson, and Dave Moser had 3 hits each. Jessie Allison had 2 HR's. Chris Cogswell and Frank Pearson each had 1 HR.

 

DIV 2 : PENNBROOKE, LEESBURG MOOSE LODGE 11; DEL WEBB, GOOD TIME LOUNGE 16:

UMPIRES: PLATE: DJ Jones, BASE: JACK DeMAGISTRIS

Del Webb jumped out earlier, after three innings had a 10 to 1 lead the 4th inning saw Pennbrooke score 4 and Del Webb got three for a 13 to 5 lead. No more scoring till the 7th with both teams scoring 3 each and three more from Pennbrooke in the 8th as Del Webb held on for the win. A good game on both sides but Pennbrooke suffered some minor injuries to 3 players .

For Pennbrooke: John Baker, Matt Palmer and Dodd Carter all with 3 hits apiece: For Del Webb:  3 hits each also for Al Sondergaard, Terry Johnson, Rick Gebhard, Mike Hayman ( Winning Pitcher ) and Rich DeNicola also with 3 rbi’s.

 

Holiday Village 2 (Dco Flooring) was led by Doug McKinney (4 Hits, 2 Hrs), Dave Duval also had 4 Hits. John Bistro, Mark Sims, Bill Lissimore had 3 Hits each.             

Water Oak (Kiley & Sons Plumbing)  was led by Bud Andrisco and Pat Dwyer (1 Hr), with 4 Hits.    Darin Holman had 3 Hits (2 Hrs), Brian Macker had 3 Hits (2 Hrs), Dan Tremaine also had 3 Hits.                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Water Oak was ahead 11-3 after 3 innings, but Holiday Village scored 8 runs in the 4th to knot the score @ 11. After 7 innings, the score was tied @ 20 runs each. The game went into extra innings with Holiday Village scoring twicw and Water Oak only managed to score once to set the final score @ 21-20.

Del Webb defeated Clerbrook 14-11 in a well-played game by both teams on Friday. For Del Webb, Rich Gebhard, Ray Pierce, Al Sondergard, Rich Nicola, and Kevin Cheeks all had 2 hits. Rich Gebhard had a HR.

Holiday Village/DCO Flooring defeated Continental today by a score of 22-21.  As usual one team had a huge lead and the other had a huge comeback.  Division 2 is the most balanced division in Sun & Fun.  Any team can beat any other team on any given day.   Holiday Village was led by Dard Moonan, Butch Tanner, Doug McKinney, and Dave Duval with 3 hits each.  Continental actually out hit Holiday Village 28-21.  Continental was led by Mike Florence, Mark LaPlante, Don Amstutz, T J Valley, Sheldon Stephenson and Rich Smith with 3 hits each.

Pennbrooke came to Clerbrook with revenge on their minds for last weeks's loss and they left with a 25-8 win.

Pennbrooke was led by John Baker with 5 hits and a HR and Dan Heater with 4 hits, 3 HR's and 7 RBI. Floyd Williams also had 4 hits. John Hartman and Glenn Laney also had HR's. Ross Query had 3 hits and 5 RBI. As a team, Pennbrooke played great defense in this game.

Clerbrook had 5 players with 2 hits. Jessie Allison and Chris Cogswell had HR's. Even with the lopsided score, this was a fun game with good sportsmanship by both teams.

 Very well played and well pitched game at Pennbrooke field with the home team getting the win this time.  Holiday was lead byCheri Hahn, Bill Lissimore and Dard Moonan with 2 hits each.  Pennbrooke was led by Matt Palmer with 4 hits including a homerun, Dan Header alsowith 4 hits and 2 homeruns, Jon Hartman with 3 hits including a homerun and Doug Long and Joe Trotz with 3 hits each, Dodd Carter contributed with 2 homeruns also.  Winning pitcher was Floyd Williams.  Always a competitive game between these 2 clubs.

In a very competitive game Pennbrooke jumped out to a big lead only to have Water Oak tie the score at 18-18 in the top of the 7th.  Water Oak had bases loaded and no outs but couldnt push the run across to take the lead.  Pennbrooke scored two in the bottom of the 7th and held the visitors scoreless in the 8th to seal the victory.  Water Oak was lead by Sal Gioa and Ron Drewa with 4 hits and Brian Macher and Bud Andrisko added 3 hits each.  Pennbrooke was led by Jon Hartman with 3 hits with a 3 run homerun and 4 rbi's, Floyd Williams, John Baker and Dodd Carter all had 3 hits.  Winning pitcher was Rick Bracken..Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all.

Continental came out strong with 5 in the top of the 1st, Pennbrooke got back 4.  It was a well fought game the whole game with Pennbrooke gaining the victory..  For Continental Rick Urso, Ed Leech, Shelley Stephenson and Rich Smith all had 4 hits while Chris Todd chipped in with 3.  Steve Jones was 0 for 4 but almost got a hit his last time up.   Pennbrookes attack was led by Floyd Williams who was 4 for 4 with a homerun on the same day he was inducted into the Florida half century Hall Of Fame. Congratulations Floyd from your teammates on this great accomplishment.  Joe Trotz, Pat Stock, Dodd Carter, Jon Hartman, Doug Long and Ross Querry all had 3 hits to help the cause..Winning pitcher was Rick Bracken. Great friendship and sportsmanship as always when we play each other.

Holiday Village/ DCO Flooring defeated Pennbrooke/ Leesburg Moose Lodge by a score of 19-15.   Dave Duval was the winning pitch.  Pennbrooke was led by Joe Stotz who was 4 for 4.  Floyd Baker, John Baker each added 3 hits each.  Dodd Carter, Floyd Williams and Doug Long all blasted home runs.   Holiday Village was led by Doug McKinney who was 5 for 5.  Bernie Rau added 3 hits.  Mel Curran was the home plate umpire and Ray Wnuck handled the bases.

A game that saw Del Webb get an early 9 - 0 lead after two innings and never looked back; For Continental, Ed Leach was 2 for 3, and Mark LaPlante had wit. For Del Webb, Gary Pickel 3 hits, Ray Pierce 3 hits, Hal Dodd 4 hits; Will Blanchard with 3 hits and Rich DeNicola with 4 hits, a Dbl and 2 Hr’s.

Del Webb D2/Good Time Lounge defeated Holiday Village D2/DCO Flooring by a score of 21-18.   The home plate umpire was Deb Weiner and Mel Curran handled the bases.  Del Webb was led by Kevin Cheeks who was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs.  Gary Pickel was also 3 for 3 with 1 home run.  Ray Pierce, Terry Johnson and Rich Gebhard all added 3 hits each.  Dave Duval led Holiday Village with 4 hits.  Butch Tanner, Doug McKinney,  and Bernie Rau each added 3 hits.

Umpires: Home plate: Don Sprout, Bases: Marty Konantz.

It was a close game through 5 innings when Pennbrooke pulled away for the 14-7 win.

For Pennbrooke: Rick Bracken, Gary Lubert, Joe Trotz, Glen Laney, Matt Palmer and John Baker each had 3 hits.

One of John’s hits was a hr. Doug Long also had a hr.

For Continental: Rick Urso had 3 hits. Mark LaPlante was 4 for 4 with 2 hr and 5 rbi. Steve Jones also had a hr.

Winning pitcher was Rick Bracken and Sheldon Stephenson took the lost.

Home Plate Ump; Sue Pandack, Base Ump; Sheila Lofland: In a Game that saw multiple hitting by both teams and the score change 5 times after the smoke cleared, Del Webb 2 came away with a 24 to 19 win. For Del Webb: Rich DeNicola 3 hits with 2 hr’s and 4 rbi’s; Jake Pyne with 4 hits and 5 rbi’s; Kevin Cheeks 3 hits, 2 rbi’s ; Rick Gebhard with an inside the Park Hr. Gary Pickel on base 3 times and a Sac. fly with a great defensive game while turning several DP’s . Water Oak/ No Report !

Holiday Village D2/ DCO Flooring defeated Water Oak D2/ Kiley & Sons Plumbing 15-9.   Home plate umpire was Ray Wnuck and Deb Weiner handled the bases.  Holiday Village was led by Mark Sims, Bernie Rau and Bill Lissimore with 3 hits each.  Dave Duval,  Butch Tanner and Kevin Coble each added 2 hits each.  Dave Duval was the winning pitcher.   Water Oak batted everyone and was led by Brian Macker who was 3 for 3 with a HR.  Bob Ducharm also had 3 hits.  Scott Storgaard, Jose Torres, and Randy Tidwell each added 2 hits apiece. Good to have Water Oak back in the division again!

Good Times Lounge 24 @Villages Moose Lodge 16....Home Plate Gaylan Friend, Bases Jerry Holcup

 In a game that was much closer than the final score Del Webb scored 3 runs with 2 outs in the top of the 8th on a clutch homerun by Rich Denicola.  Pennbrooke had 2 opportunities in the bottom of the 8th but did not score.  In extra innings Del Webb found there stroke and put the game out of reach.  For the visitors Ray Pierce and Gary Pickel each had 4 hits while Will Blanchard and Rick Gebhard added 3 hits apiece and Bob Falzone chipped in with 3 rbis. Pennbrooke was led by Matt Palmer with 4 hits and Floyd Williams, John Baker and Glenn Laney with 3 hits each. If this game was any indication of whats to come division 2 is going to have some great games this season.
