Legacy 18 Holiday Travel 15

The last game of the season ended up being a barn burner between two evenly matched teams. Legacy jumped out to a 10-3 lead early and then went cold allowing Holiday Travel to tie 12-12 going into the 8th inning. They jumped ahead 15-12 in the top of the inning leading to a dramatic end of season grand slam walk off home run by Tim Pickel in the bottom of the inning. We tried carrying Tim off the field, but we didn't have enough guys.

For Holiday Travel, Charlie Hanning had 4 hits, Butch Tanner and Dave Duval had 3 hits each.

For Legacy, Ken Mahoney was 4 for 4 with a HR, Chad Baldwin (HR), Mike Payne and Jerry Nally each had 3 hits.

Ron Pearson was the winning pitcher and he contributed 2 fine plays with the bases loaded: one a hard line drive that he snagged to end an inning and the other a ground ball back to the mound that he turned into a home to first double play to end that inning. Bill Stoltenberg made a great running catch in deep left against the fence on a ball hit by Pat Dwyer to throttle a mid inning rally.

Pennebrooke II  -19 Del Webb 1

For Pennbrooke:  Great balanced team effort

For Del Webb: Chris Olsen and Joe Diana had 2 hits.
