a double. Bill Bibler, Art Drolet,

Del Webb Softball 9, Phillips Toyota (Plantation at Leesburg) 7
With the game
tied at 7 in the 7th, Del Webb was able to score two runs in the bottom of the
8th then held The Wheels of Phire scoreless in the
bottom of the 8th for the win. A lot of good glove work by both
sides. The winning pitcher was Billy Crafts of Del Webb.
For Phillips
Toyota of Leesburg (Plantation): Charlie Castello was a perfect 4/4 with four
singles, John Taylor was 3/4 and with two hits were: Phil Ekern, Don Hallock, and Glen Sharp. All Wheelers had
at least one hit.
For Del
Webb: No one got any hits. Runs were scored when the umpires were
not looking then doubled up in their score book. Sad.
The real deal
what a game for Del Webb with the scored tied 7-7 in the 7th Del webb scored two to take the lead and then shut down
plantation in the bottom of the 8th for the win.
Bob Gardner 2
hits and two walks with a double, Buck Strain 3 for 4 Maryann Bubelnik hit the
winning double in the 8th inning but the real hero of the day was
score keeper Debbie Strain catching that Plantation used the same runner twice in
the bottom of the 7th inning
with the bases loaded ending the assault with no runs scored.
Heritage
Spruce Creek 10 Holiday Village Thermo-Cool 7
Holiday
Village Thermo-Cool was ready to play from the outset and scored 5 runs in the
first couple innings while holding Heritage Spruce Creek scoreless until the
bottom of the 4th inning. Heritage Spruce Creek bats came alive to
tie the game and then take the lead. Holiday Village Thermo-Cool tied the
game again, but Heritage Spruce Creek scored 3 runs in the 6th to
take the lead for good. In the top of the 8th Holiday Village
Thermo-Cool made some hits to get players on base, but were unable to score and
Heritage Spruce Creek won a close and hard fought
game.
For
Heritage Spruce Creek: Winston Bennett went 3 for 3; Bill Licatovich
went 2 for 2 and Pug Welch and Kevin Thompson went 2 for 3.
For
Holiday Village Thermo-Cool: Bud Harburn, Larry Harmeyer, Dennis Fairfield, Roger Dotson and Jack Uriah all
