Del Webb 15 Stonecrest 9

The Stonecrest bats were quiet today.  Del Webb came out early and we're fast and furious taking a quick 2-1 lead in the first inning.  After putting up a 5 spot in the third the Stonecrest fan faithful appeared resigned to their summer season coming to a close.  The Del Webb offense was lead by Ray Pierce and Rick Gebnard with 4 hits each.  DJ Jones, Armando Llaguno, Dennis Burke and Gregg Lewis rounded out the Del Webb assault with 2 hits each.  Stonecrest leading hitters were Loy Brashaer who was 3-4 and had the team high of 40 hits for the summer and John Riley who was 2 for 2 on the day.  Other summer season batting leaders for Stonecrest included Walt Tarasko and Bob Naramore each batting over .700.  Johnny Click, John Cosenza, Mike Eaton and Keith Kelley all posted on-base percentage (OBP) over .600.

Congratulations to Plantation on winning the summer pennant and we look forward to seeing everyone again in the fall if only we could start the Sun and Fun again sooner than November.

Water Oak    Summerglen

Be advised the subject game was cancelled due to wet field conditions and inclement weather.

Spruce Creek 2 , Plantation 7

For Spruce Creek: Al McCormick, Jim Wallace, and George Mathews all had 2 hits.

For Plantation: Danny Smith, Joe Burgess, and Mark Fiebiger went 2 for 3. Tom Karbowski 1 for 2 and a walk

Plantations bats were not at their best but their defense was, just as it has been most of the season.

Plantation gave up 4 hits for 2 runs in the first and then gave up 3 hits the rest of the game. Danny Smith was the winning pitcher

Gentlemen, it was a fun summer league.
